UGANDA OPENS A CULTURE PARK IN CHINA

In an effort to boost Uganda’s tourism sector, a cultural park has been established in China. The park lies at Shaping Street, Kaifu district in Hunan province in China one of a few most forested parks that straddle within a 40 hectare land. It is bordered by water bodies and consists of several sculptured art pieces of Ugandan wildlife species the rare mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, lions and many others. This however offers Chinese opportunity to explore what Uganda has in offer and what is interesting is that, there are still plans to extend the exhibition room where Uganda’s art pieces, cultures, history and painting can be displayed.

Recently, Uganda and China signed a memorandum of understanding for Investment and Trade Cooperation and the key sectors included mining, agriculture, tourism and industrialization. There is need however to train and equip nationals in embroidery and also promote domestic tourism by locally marketing Uganda’s tourist attractions. Uganda is popular for its big game-Lions + the tree climbing lions, African elephants, buffaloes, leopards, rhinos as well as other incredible wildlife species such as mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, golden monkeys, red tailed monkeys, antelope families, and birds that are widely distributed within its 10 national parks and several game reserves. Besides, it boasts of its diverse cultures with each ethnic group offering unique cultural and traditional experiences.

In conclusion, culture is one of Uganda’s major tourist attractions and a fact that it still remains not fully exploited; visitors on cultural safari in Africa are rewarded with authentic experiences.
