Toyota Rav4. This is a five door vehicle with a seating capacity of five people including the driver. But for tourists’ standards, it carries four people including the driver with every one seated next to a door.
This type of vehicle is ideal for road trips visiting different localities but if you are after Wildlife, then this is not perfect as it doesn’t have a pop up roof. Its pricing range from $40 - $50 USD per day depending on the number of days for the trip.
Land Cruisers (Prado, TX & TZ). This is not only spacious but also raised a bit up from the ground than the Rav4. It’s a five door vehicle with a seating capacity of eight people including the driver.
But on tourists’ standards, Land cruisers accommodate four travelers, driver inclusive. Land cruisers are of different types according to year manufactured including Land cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser TX, TZ and Nissan.
Different land cruisers are provided with pop up roof perfect for Wildlife seeing through game drives. You can as well before offered with a non-pop up roof or one with sun roof, whatever you may be interested in.
Toyota Hiace (Drone). With speed this type of Toyota vehicles is unbeatable though the rental terms and conditions restrict travelers from over speeding. It’s comfortable with its seats accommodating about 9-10 passengers including the driver.
They are provided in different styles where by some have pop up roof for Wildlife sighting. Others are non-pop up roofed making them comfortable for executive use.
This type of car is mostly used by family travelling with kids or those travelling in groups as friends and more.
Super Custom. Super customs also belong to the Toyota hiace brands though the year of manufacture is a bit older than the drones.
All its features differ from that of the drones. The main feature which makes it unique from other brands of Toyota hiace is the rotating seats.
Its seats are adjustable; you can even hold a meeting from the behind seats facing each other while travelling. It’s a four door vehicle, accommodating about 7-9 passengers including the driver.
Suitable for family or group tours, if you are after Wildlife ask for the one with a pop up roof or one without if it’s for executive use like meetings, conference, parties and more.
Safari Van. Safari vans also belong to the Toyota hiace brands though its features differ from other brands like Super customs. These are mainly for Safaris and provided with pop up roof perfect for Wildlife encounters.
If you are in a group and more interested in Wildlife and sightseeing, then type of vehicle is the best to have an unforgettable Uganda Wildlife Safari.
Those listed above are the only jeeps you can hire in Uganda for self-driving on its well improved infrastructure in different regions.
You may ask a question like why is it that some other Safari vehicles like Safari cruiser extended, Toyota coaster and more are missing.
Here is the answer – There are missing because there are not offered for Self-drive instead you have to hire it with a driver from the respective Car rental Uganda agency providing it.
